Hmm, how about the map of major contributions to arts and sciences in the last 2000 years? HIV victims?
Africa is a continent and you're comparing it to countries
Sadly, Uncyclopedia's descriptions of how Americans see Africa are pretty accurate.
See these maps, for example.
Thank-you, thank-you! I've been wanting one of those maps of other countries superimposed to use in my classes, but couldn't find one (my profs used them in intro African studies/politics classes back in the day). And I LOVE the last map. Especially since there are no tigers in Africa.
because the United States doesn't include Alaska?
Very interesting point... Thanks
It's crazy to me how things can be interpreted so radically differently by different people.
Some love these maps (@texasinafrica, @shalvey) and others criticize me (as in, @anonymous #2 "YOU'RE comparing it to countries," emphasis mine) and others nitpick (@anonymous #4, comment #6 for not including Alaska).
To both the lovers and the haters, thanks and thanks. That's why maps are awesome.

If you're HONESTLY interested, then you can start here...

BTW, HIV is in Western Europe and North America too.

interesting to see that the UK is viewed as NOT part of western europe, LOL...
RC: it's better to ignore ignorant people that leave flaming comments like that...!
smokeonit. UK is there. and Ireland. and Sweden, Norway and Finland. They are just not attached to the mainland Europe. because they are not attached to the mainland Europe :) turn the map upside down, if it makes it easier for you to visualise.
(btw. Iceland and Greenland are not in the pic)
African people are so poor , and they do not know about No deposit needed Poker $50 promotion Free poker starting capital Good luck at the tables. Imagine what fifty dollars can do in africa, i hope they read this :)

" because the United States doesn't include Alaska?"
I think the point of this maps was to illustrate the vastness of the African continent. As big as Alaska is, it would only add 1.7 million Km squared. Much smaller than it looks on most maps. You probably did not notice that Madagascar is missing as well...did you?
